Text Box: Text Box: Welcome to Sew Great Tours!
WE had a fun year last year with all the new destinations and quilt shows. Lots of memories and new friends. That’s what it is all about. On almost all of our trips, we had at least five states represented. And last year, we had two ladies from New Zealand join us. So now I can boast “we have travelers from all over the world join us for our exciting quilting destinations!”

2010 will be filled with great destinations—new , old and a mix of both! I am excited to offer our Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. Even though we have attended this show twice before, this will be all new! We will be traveling on Amtrak and sightseeing on the western side of the mountains.

Our destinations are for the quilting enthusiast. We try to visit many other craft areas too. Our New England trip will include a yarn making operation and the Wisconsin Expo will take us to the Reiman family of magazines and their Taste of Home Kitchens & Outlet. Yes shopping is always high on our list of activities and this year we will visit the largest mall in Illinois, the famous Watertower Place with the American Girl Flagship, Freeport, Maine home to the outlet stores and LL Bean Flagship, Corsicana Bakery –home of the famous (yes) fruit cakes (the ones that do get eaten), the largest fabric store in the nation, the Woolrich flagship store and lots of quilt stores both big and small. Of course we go to a cheese outlet while in Wisconsin, but who would think they would also be home to the Mustard Museum with over 400 varieties?

Our tour are busting with new destinations and must see sights. We love our theater groups and what fun we have at the Plymouth Playhouse as they make fun of those Minnesotans, a cruise on Lake Geneva will take us back in time, we might learn a little at the worlds largest bookstore, visit the most photographed lighthouse, go on a ferry to Martha’s Vineyard, see the Breakers Mansion in Newport and see the Gulf of Mexico from Galveston Island. (to our surprise bigger than we thought!).

This year we coaxed the show vendors to help with the entertainment! One of our favorite vendors, Cherrywood Fabrics, will give us a show! Linda says she's just entertainment! Don’t know it that came out right? Maybe we are starting a new trend!

The Amtrak Adventure promises to give us the best scenery or maybe it’s the New England tour with Martha’s vineyard and the eastern coastline. It looks like we will be filled with a variety of landmarks and changing scenery as we venture from Maine to Oregon and Minnesota to Texas. We try to see it all!

About out tours…When comparing our tour pricing with other tour companies you will find our prices very modest. Our tours are modestly priced to allow more people the advantage to travel. Our hotel choices include the Fairfield Inn, Drury Suites, Comfort Suites, Holiday Inn Express and the Spring Hill Suites by Marriott. Our bus is a full-service coach with rest room and DVD player. We negotiate our prices and look at the value of the attractions in the area. We take advantage of the ups and downs in the market and in some cases, we negotiate Contracts right up to tour departure. In keeping the pricing low, leaves no room for increases, so when gas surcharges arrive, I have to pass them on. I look out for my passengers and give them the most bang for their buck!

**Full-Bus Bonuses*** New this year, if our bus to that particular trip is full, we all get a bonus! Sometimes the bonus is a meal for everyone or entrance to the quilt show.

The following are common questions and concerns about group travel..
About a month out from your trip departure, an itinerary will be sent to each guest. It will include the name of the hotel along with the phone number, break stops and destinations are listed along with the estimated times of arrival. We try to schedule stops every 2 - 3 hours. There is no smoking on the bus.

Our modern buses are equipped with a VCR, tape player, reclining seats, tinted windows, foot rests, overhead storage and rest room. We ask that you pack as light as possible and try to limit yourself to one piece of luggage. You are welcome to bring snacks and projects on board. There is also overhead storage if you wish to bring a carry-on. The luggage is stored under the bus and we request that all packages and luggage be zipped shut. No open packages or bags in luggage compartment.

Our trips are fully escorted. The escorts are along to aid in any way to make your trip memorable. You will find our escorts are usually well versed in sewing and quilting and may even be instructors. They add a lot to the flair and style of our trips!

Rooms are requested as...Nonsmoking; A single rate consists of one person with a double bed; A double is two people with two double beds: A triple is three people with two double beds: A quad is four people with two double beds.
